Breige O'Donnell-Smith trained in classical ballet, tap and jazz at a young age while growing up in the Hudson Valley prior to moving to New York City at 18 years old to pursue dance professionally. While in New York, she performed in industrials and regional musical theater before attending Stony Brook University to complete a bachelor's degree in Biology and Genetics with a minor in Dance. She began doing Pilates while in college as a means to complement her dance training. She immediately fell in love with both the strengthening and rehabilitative aspects of the practice. Upon completion of college, Breige continued her professional dance endeavors performing throughout the metropolitan area with De Funes Dance Company in addition to working toward her goal of attending medical school. Pilates became an integral part of her mind body practice while in medical school, which prompted her to seek certification with the PhysicalMind Institute under the guidance of Joan Breibart. She obtained her MD from New York Medical College. Breige brings her love of medicine and knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to her practice of Pilates in hopes of helping patients and clients alike develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for their bodies and practice in an effort to foster both mental and physical strength.

Elaine DeMarkondes is a dancer, choreographer and ballet master; a medical and physical therapist and master trainer in Pilates; and a specialist in Performing Arts. Elaine graduated from the Dance School of the Teatro Guaira with a Master’s in Communication and Semiotics. She served as a classical dancer, choreographer and teacher at Opus - School of Dance, performing great artistic productions as Don Quixote and Carmen by Bizet. She received a scholarship from the Joffrey Ballet School, where she worked with major dance names in New York and has assisted in the training of children and adolescents working in the Vaganova method. She served as teacher and body trainer at Ballet Theatre Guaira. She was coordinator and lecturer in undergraduate and specialization in dance.

She is currently a tango dancer and co-founder of Body Core, where she develops her clinical work with the Pilates method. She is also Founder and Director of DeMarkondes Pilates, a licensed company in Brazil for international professional Pilates training. 

Lina Carpenito is a graduate of Drexel University. While working in the NYC Garment Center, she never let go of her passion for fitness. She worked part-time as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer until she made a complete career change.  In 2006 Lina turned her part-time Passion into a full time career.

Currently, Lina is an accomplished fitness educator with an extensive background in business management.  She has worked in medical settings, bridging the gap between exercise and medicine.  She is both an AFAA and ACE certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor.  She is also a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

Lina has taught just about any format of fitness you can imagine.  She is been certified in Pilates mat and Standing Pilates® with the Physical Mind Institute since 2006.  She is holds a 500 hr. Yoga Certification as well as a 700 hr. Yoga Therapy Certification.  She has extensive experience dealing with all body types and fitness levels.  She is also well-versed in working with many types of medical conditions such as MS, Parkinsons Disease, Arthritis, Lupus, joint replacements etc…

Lina has uniquely combined eastern and western approaches to exercise, and health.  She has a mind/body approach to exercise and believes that we all have the ability to heal ourselves, work hard, find balance, and have fun at the same time.
